This question always plays with the mind of all android phone users. Many of the android users are still unaware of rooting. Whereas some of the android users think that rooting that makes your phone like SUPERMAN. But that's not true.
We all know that android play store has a huge collection of apps and games where some apps will be quoted as rooted. Out of curiosity most of the people try them but they could not get the results because they are limited to not to change any system parameters and settings.
Rooting is how users can lift these limitations and use the device the way they want to and not how the manufacturer wants them to.
“Rooting” your device means obtaining “superuser” rights and permissions to your Android’s software.
- With these elevated user privileges, you gain the ability to load custom software (ROM’s),
- install custom themes, increase performance, increase battery life, and
- the ability to install software that would otherwise cost extra money (ex: WiFi tethering).
Rooting an android device is somewhat equivalent to jail breaking your iPhone.
If u want to get more potential from your device then rooting is must thing to do.
Some people think that rooting is harmful to device but it doesn't harm your device unless you change devices' parameters.
I personally think rooting is essential to every phone particularly to the low end phones.
These some of the advantages and disadvantages of rooting your device.
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
Always do some research before rooting your device. Follow each and every step in rooting procedure carefully. Don't expect a small device to run as high end device, every device has its own limitations of hardware so rooting has nothing to do with it.
Finally
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
