One click CM installer is coming to windows first followed by mac and linux if there is demand
anyway users should first install an android app readies the device and verifies the compatible , windows app downloads and install everything including custom recovery and Gapps.
Having root is not complusory though
The android app is currenlty available to testers
the blog post makes referance to open and unlocable devices, but thats not the case with a lot of android handsets.According to Abhisek(AKA ciwrl) ,the installer will only support users of openly unlocable devices and not thouse that are locked up by the carrier or the OEM,since thouse are likely either not unlocable at all or unlockable using an exploit.
There is one more problem that is with Gapps as these are proprietary and not open-sourced so these are to be installed separetly. Since CyanogenMod is not built n such a way that it can bypass Google's certification process to be approved as it ships pre-rooted
