BBM for PC without bluestacks

What is BBM? Basically BBM (Blackberry Messenger) is an enhanced real-time text messaging service between Blackberry users. It also includes media sharing besides text messaging. The messages are relayed through Blackberry's RIM servers, very similar to email, so it can make the most of Blackberry's other famous proprietary system, push technology. But recently they had made it cross platorm, so it is available for both iOS and Android.

BBM for Android for PC

BBM for PC

Technically BBM is not released for PC but we can enjoy BBM on PC by its Android application. So this trick is based on using an Android emulator for PC called "Genymotion". So the users whose devices are unsupported can setup the emulator to try BBM on PC.
Here's a guide on installing BBM for PC
  • First requirement is to download Genymotion Android emulator by going to Genymotion website. Sign up for a free account and download
  • Then follow the onscreen instructions to install the emulator on to your PC.
  • After installing Genymotion, open it and it will ask you to select your first virtual device. Click Yes.
  • Login with your Genymotion account details.
  • After logging in with your account you must have to choose a Virtual device from the list.
  • Select S4/HTC One/Xperia Z 4.2.2 with Google Apps.
  • Select this and click Add. This will take a few moments to download the image from the servers' source.
  • After downloading is finished, click Next and then Finish to complete.
  • For better performance with the emulator Select the wrench icon and change the resolution.Select 720 by 1280 with 320 dpi and click Ok.
  • Now open the image by double clicking on the file name or by clicking Play button.
  • If a pop-up message "If you want to configure ADP connection" is displayed then click stop asking me.
  • Wait for a few seconds until it leads to the homescreen of Nexus. Change the settings here.
  • Now sign-in with your Gmail Account to use Play Store.
  • Open Play Store in emulator and search for BBM for Android.
  • Download and open it after the completion of installation.
  • That's it!! Now use your BBM UserID to login or Sign-up and start using BBM on PC.

We can even use Bluestacks emulator but many users reported to have some lag issues so it was not mentioned here. Also Genymotion is better in performance than Bluestacks emulator. Video on this tutorial will be posted soon
